The Business Management programme provides a professional qualification that may be used to prepare directly for a career in business, or to gain advanced entry onto a range of professional qualifications and university degrees in the UK and other countries. The programme provides students with an appreciation of the theoretical issues currently involved in the study of business and a range of practical skills which will enhance their value to potential employers. Major themes running throughout the programme include Management, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Information Technology.

 

 

Certification Paths
 
Certificate in Business Management

The four compulsory subjects are:

  1. Introduction to Business
  2. Introduction to Quantitative Methods
  3. Introduction to Accounting
  4. Introduction to Business Communication

Entrance Requirements
No formal qualifications are required but applicants should demonstrate competence in English

Diploma in Business Management

Part 1
The four compulsory papers are:

  1. Economic Principles and thier Application to Business
  2. Organizational Behaviour
  3. Financial Accounting
  4. Quantitative Methods for Business and Management

Part 2
The four compulsory papers are:

  1. Marketing, Policy Planning and Communication
  2. Management in Action
  3. Human Resource Management

Students must also pass one of the following options:
4 . Principles of Business Law
5 . Systems Analysis
6. Managerial Accounting

Entrance Requirements (Parts 1 and 2)
Applicants should be recommended by two (2) responsible persons. They must also have attained ONE of the following entry requirements:

  1. ABE Certificate in Business Management OR completion of 3 subjects in ABE Certificate Level
  2. At least 18 years old with 5 O' Levels and 2 A' Levels

*In addition the ABE welcomes applications for student membership from intending Diploma candidates who, although not holding a formal entry qualification, have been in appropriate employment for at least two (2) years. A reference letter from employers must accompany all such applications.

Advanced Diploma in Business Management

The three compulsory papers are:
1. Corporate Strategy
2. Management Organization
3. International Business

Students must pass two of the following options:
4. Strategic Marketing
5. Corporate Finance
6. Strategic Human Resource Management
7. Managing the Information Resource

Entrance Requirements
Applicants must have attained ONE of the following entry qualifications:

  1. ABE Diploma in Business Management OR
  2. Other recognized qualifications of approved overseas Institutions of Higher Education

The decision of the Council as to the suitability of the candidate shall be final.
